Nicki Guisneuf

I am a graduate student in the Biopsychology department at the University of Michigan, working with Dr. Thore Bergman. I am broadly interested in vocal communication, social behavior, and conservation. My work focuses on behavioral flexibility, and how the monkeys change vocal and social behavior according to different contexts. I look at social contexts, including the presence of certain group members, and the geographical context, including where they are in the forest and how close they are to the edge. I am also interested in the effects of habitat disturbance on behavior, ranging patterns, and vocalizations. I conduct my research at the Capuchinos de Taboga fieldsite. Before starting my PhD in 2020, I graduated from my Masters in Primate Conservation at Oxford Brookes University in 2019, and a BA in Anthropology and Sociology from Durham University in 2013.
